Description

L" for John Linnet

the head modelled as a realistic depiction of a monkey/chimpanzee

with minute amounts of certain metal oxides added to give colour – the technique was perfected by Georges Frédéric Strass in 1724

or "Faith and Distrust" (although I'm a little unsure about the "ac")

Victorian Enamel "Duck in Flight" Brooch souvenir L" for John LinnetDATE: Victorian, c. 1900 A cool antique brooch, dating from the late Victorian period, circa 1900. It captures a duck in mid flight, with both wings up stretched and it's neck protruding forward. The details in the feathers are great, with white and yellow gold wings and a gold body. It's head features black, blue and green enamel much like the mallard duck itself with the enamel detailed eyes. Stamped 9ct gold and comes with original box.
