The man's arm is around his wife's shoulders. Inside of the case is a great inscription, signed (?) Miller. The back of the plate is dated May 1857.. hard to see, but I can read it with my cell phone flashlight, holding it at an angle. The chair and backdrop belong to Springfield and Westfield, Massachusetts photographer Thomas P. Collins I think in 1857 he was in
