Both frame and canvas background are painted in my signature charcoal gray, not quite black. This was inspired by an old red brick Clock Tower at the town square in Hudson, Ohio. And also, by The Miller Bell Tower inside Chautauqua Institution, in Chautauqua, New York; a place my family frequently visited when I was a child.
