One tech I know makes a small hole in the machine and mounts some sort of long screw with rubber around it to make like a stop peg

This is the headblock from a Tascam 38 1/2 inch tape recorder on which is mounted the three heads and two tape guides

its a one piece unit but easy to replace

when teh heads are brand new they have an all over plating

Fostex model 250 top shell panel One tech I know makesThis is a nice top shell only, from a hardly used Fostex model 250, perfect apart from, a little scratch on the orange bar and a tiny chip by the play area, I have seen a lot worse. Nice project if yours is looking tired, priced accordingly Contact me for freight cost before trying to order, its not crazy heavy but has too be packed well.
