Marcus Stone, artist and Associate of the Royal Academy mb-height 5763 Inscribed: 'JMarcus Stone, artist and Associate of the Royal Academy, 1882. A popular and influential Victorian genre painter, Stone (1840 1921) was trained by his father Frank, also an artist, and first exhibited at the Royal Academy when aged just 18. He went on to become an Associate of the Academy in 1877 and a Royal Academician in 1887.
