Fossilised Ichthyosaur paddle Finish:Stretched Harry DowdPlate 16 from the paper 'Some farther account of the fossil remains of an animal, of which a description was given to the Society in 1814', by Everard Home, Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, vol. 106 (1816), pp. 318 321. The specimen was from the Lyme Regis area and in the collection of 'Mr Johnson', eg James Johnson of Bristol. Therefore collected by him or possibly by Mary Anning, from whom he bought fossils. Original: ink on paper.
