The area around the museum

Take time for a walk in the unique open-air museum around the museum bunker. The area is the western part of the German 38 cm battery and covers some 100.000 m2.

During the war the area was a bare and rough landscape dominated by dunes.

In the early fifties the Danish State carried out planting with pine. The purpose was to give shelter to Hanstholm from the rough climate of the west coast. The efforts bore fruit so that you today can enjoy a beautiful and varied wood in the dunes.

Man kan også bese en del af de forskellige bunkere, som er frilagt i denne del af batteriet. Husk lommelygten! Flere luftfotos.
Most of the bunkers in this part of the batter has been made accesible.
Remember a torch!
